Goals, WIPs, & Indecision

Last week I didn’t reach my goal of 3,000 words. It was quite ambitious, but I thought it was attainable since this story’s been clamoring to get out for months. Other lesser goals needed attention, but they didn’t stop me from reaching the big one. Indecision caused it.

There are so many different directions I can take each scene in my current wip, it’s hard to settle on the right one. I see the great possibilities of each. On the advice of my awesome critique partners, I’m writing without dwelling on it. I’ve picked a path for my heroine, for better or worse. In this case, I hope for the worst. 😉 Ah, tension and conflict–the stuff of which great stories are made.

Here’s hoping my more realistic goal of 2,000 words this week is met. I hope you reach your goals, too!

Happy writing!
