Sometimes, when I struggle to find the right words to convey what I’m seeing in my mind, I resort to searching Wikimedia Commons or Morgue File for pictures that give my creativity a boost. Here are a few that helped me in the telling of Alex and Desiree’s story.

Seaton Tor on the windswept coast of southern England.

The front side of Alex’s castle.

All Desiree wanted.

Mrs. Crawley’s Inn

The dower house.

The gallows.

The highwayman.

The trial at the Old Bailey.

The master bedchamber.

The castle kitchen.

If you’ve read Sweet Salvation, you know exactly what this represents. 😉

Great post! Love this visual peek into the story. Do you know the name of the second castle? Looks familiar.

Thank you for visiting, Charlie! The second castle is Northumberland. Someday, when Scotty can beam me over, I’m going to visit every single castle in the UK and Ireland! 🙂

Thank you for stopping by, Dianne! I hope my stories adequately convey just how much these images speak to me! I love all things historical and can spend hours happily surfing the net for the most intriguing pics. 🙂

Thanks, Miss Diva! It sure makes describing a scene easier and more accurate! In book #3 of the Castle of Dreams series, the interior of Senor Castle (purely a fictional place) figures heavily into the story. I have yet to find a great hall that fits the image I see in my mind, so I sketched it out on a piece of paper and refer to it whenever I need to “see” how my characters would live in it. 🙂
