Some things just don’t make sense. But I don’t care. I may be a lover of all things historical and romantic, but it isn’t the only thing I love. Scifi has always been one of my favorite TV and film genres. I grew up in a family full of Trekkies and Star Wars freaks. Saturday nights with homemade pizza and Space 1999 is one of my favorite memories.
But somehow, over the past several years, I’d forgotten how cool futuristic, fantasy, and scifi shows really are. My gal-pal Charlee Allden asked me a while back if I watch Warehouse 13. A medieval fantasy romance I’m writing reminded her of some of the elements in the show. I’d never heard of it. And then I was talking on the phone with my mom one evening, but she was so distracted I gave up on the conversation. Turned out she was watching that very show. So I had to find all the past episodes on the Internet and watch them all in preparation for this season. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Speaking of which, it’s on this evening and I can’t wait. 🙂
*Little Spoiler Alert* Falling Skies is another one that Charlee mentioned. Did you see last night’s episode? I was SO mad by the end I wanted to throw something at the tv. I have one of those giant remotes and I considered chucking it at the screen, but I love that remote. It’s impossible to lose. Anyway, I couldn’t believe JOHN LOCKE of LOST was the “leader” of Charleston!!! And I was thrilled to see him thrown in the slammer (actually, chainlink cage). Will next Sunday ever get here? I’m dying to see what happens next. Thanks, Charlee-doll!
There’s a new series on NBC coming around the bend called Revolution. It premieres on September 17, 10/9c. We can only hope it’s another well-written and superbly executed adventure into the future.
Will you be watching?
