Remaining Focused on Goals

OMGosh…I can’t believe I’m just now remembering I have a blog–and it needs attention!

Since the first of the year I’ve studied many craft lessons.  No matter how many manuscripts I complete–each more powerfully written and compelling than the previous–there’s always room for improvement.  The greatest authors never stop discovering new ways to tell old tales.

I’m striving to be one of the greats in my sub-genre.  I dream of the day I’ll rub shoulders with Julia Quinn, Virginia Henley, Stephanie Laurens, Allison Chase, and so many others.

My goal is the New York Times Bestsellers List.  To get there I’ll have to work hard, absorb all advice and lessons from the pros, and remain focused on my goals–even when I struggle to find the next word.  I have no doubt I’ll envision the perfect noun, verb, or adjective to bring my newest story to life because in the words of the great Martin Luther King, Jr., “I have a dream…”

Happy writing, y’all.  Now back to work!
